LaZact Additives for Plastics
Generally you need to max out your power and slow down your speeds in order to attain high peak temperature levels for bonding on these high heat conductive metals. Slowing down your speed will also depend on how thick the metal is so you don’t warp it.
Indeed, the mark is long-lasting and not readily erasable. The sole method to eliminate it is by machining the surface with fine sandpaper or a block. Prior to proceeding with a production run, it is crucial to test the mark's settings, permanence, and contrast on scrap metal to ensure its durability. Typically, removing the mark without impacting the substrate's finish proves to be unfeasible in most instances
Plastic Laser Marking additives Must involve Injection molding or extrusion process and can work only with Fiber and Yag lasers.
It is NOT something you can apply on pre-existing plastic parts and mark with laser. It has to be processed with molding. Lazact Black or Lazact white is available in master batch form (small plastic granules) which can be mixed with your resin at 2-5% LDR by weight of the molding shot. The molding machine screw then mixes it with your resin in the barrel at 200 to 400 F and is then injected in your steel mold at a high pressure.

Our current offering for metal markings is Black and Red (Copper tone). However our team is working on including white which will be launched soon.
Yes, it should work with the 10 watt diode. Please see a very recent video below all about our product and diode lasers.
Any of our BLI101... powder products are reusable after you mix it with Alcohol, the only condition is that it's kept with the lid closed tightly and the powder product is fully submerged in the solvent. Just stir it again and use it in the future. You can always add a few more drops of alcohol to compensate for minor evaporation so you get consistent application.
We have a few customers who are using our products to engrave on kitchen knives and utensils as well as barbecue instruments. While laser marking technologies require additives and ink coatings from BLI, they are primarily determined by the end-user and their usage. Depending on their correct application and procedure, the final user must acquire FDA approval. Settings can vary depending on the substrate grade and the laser machine specs. Our suggestions are just a starting guideline.
We test our final results/applications after marking on metals especially when there is a food contact requirement and make sure that its not coming off or getting faded in alcohol, dishwasher and other tape tests and even scotch-brite pad. We would clean it thoroughly with water and soap or dishwasher them and clean them with alcohol before using it for food application. If you see the marking is coming off then its merely a speed and power setting issue that can be easily fixed. Finally, as you see above, food safety is also determined by the mark's performance, which is influenced by your process, settings, and testing to ensure that the final finished product meets legal guidelines.
We're always here for you. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding how to use our solution for your needs.
Yes, we do offer markings for Ceramic and Glass. Currently, these are available in convenient aerosol cans, providing ease of application and consistent results. Our team is working on creating powder and liquid-ready, please stay tuned.
Brilliance Laser Inks provides high quality laser marking inks. FDA approval must be obtained by each manufacturer where the process of marking would be considered part of the items manufacturing process. Laser marking process is not something the FDA can approve by itself. It would really depend on the application process if it's followed correctly. You may also refer to our customer's testimonies or feedback that used our product.
A permanent mark is almost impossible to remove unless machined. The simplest way to machine would be using a fine sand paper or block in the same direction of the substrate grains this way the surface finish does not get distorted or look scratchy.
Beware : Always try and test the a scrap metal to check the settings, permanency and contrast prior to do a production run. In some cases it's not possible to remove the marking.

Aerosol cans provide coverage for around 4000 square inches per can, while powder products offer coverage of about 20 square inches per gram with brush application and approximately 40 square inches per gram when applied using a spray gun or an air knife. Currently, aerosols come in 12oz and 2oz sizes, whereas powder products are offered in four different sizes: 50g, 250g, 500g, and 1000g. Additionally, we offer a product called liquid ready, which contains the same concentrated powder for customer convenience. This product features a fill arrow mark on the label, eliminating the need to weigh the powder; customers just need to add alcohol up to the mark for the correct ratio.
Brilliance Laser Inks typically take about 2-3 minutes to dry after being applied to a surface. You can speed up the drying process by using a hair dryer, which can dry the ink within seconds
Laser marking spray is applied to a surface before laser marking to enhance contrast and durability. Once the spray dries, a laser interacts with the coating, causing a chemical reaction that creates a high-contrast, permanent mark. After marking, any excess spray is washed off, leaving the mark intact. This method is ideal for metals, ceramics, and other glass surfaces, as it ensures a clear mark without damaging the material. Markings made with BLI101MBA502 on stainless steel cannot be erased. if it’s done correctly, if you really wanna remove it, then you may have to sand it down or grind it.
We offer the Black Aluminum Metal Marking Ink Spray, specifically crafted for marking aluminum surfaces. While it might work on colored aluminum metals, we haven't tested it in those scenarios, so it would be a good idea to conduct some trials first. Additionally, the results may vary depending on the laser machine you are using.
Copper Tone laser marking spray is designed for stainless steel.

No, we don't recommend it – 🚫 it's best to minimize or turn off the airflow/air assist because our product can be removed from the surface with strong airflow before lasering. Please do not confuse airflow with exhaust as you would need the exhaust while laser marking is in action to remove the unwanted fumes and debri from contaminating your optics.
Our black metal marking spray is a universal metal marking product and will also work on aluminum. But everything else on a product may have some limitations as there are several grades of metals for aluminum available in the market so it’s best to test it in your situation on your laser before you proceed to a volume purchase. For this very reason, and on-demand of our aluminum lovers we have already created marking specifically for aluminum, this is to expand our range of different aluminum grades and a variety of different lasers that can give higher permanency in those situations.
For aluminum surfaces, consider experimenting with our latest product, the Black Aluminum Metal Marking Inks. This specialized ink is formulated for use on aluminum metals, including anodized surfaces.
Our Universal Black Metal Laser Spray is perfect for marking uncoated metals like stainless steel, brass, copper, and other metal surfaces.

Plastic laser marking additives are materials mixed during plastic moldings to enhance their ability to be marked or engraved using a laser. They improve the contrast and quality of the mark, making it more durable and readable.
LaZact is a brand trademark word derived by our engineers that means as follows:
-
Laser Activates White (LaZact White)
- Laser Activates Black (LaZact Black)
LaZact Additive products cannot be used on the surface of pre-molded plastics. It has to be mixed in the molding process.
LaZact additives interact with the laser light during the marking process. When the laser hits the plastic, the additives create a color contrast by either absorbing or reflecting the laser light differently than the base plastic. This results in a clear and permanent mark on the surface.
Our Lazact Additives are versatile and compatible with a wide range of plastics, including PP, PE, PC, PVC, ABS, TPU, PBT, TPR, TPE, HIPS, PA6/PA66, and ABS+PC, making it highly versatile and suitable for diverse applications. In general, LaZact additives are most commonly used when it is important to create a high-contrast mark on a plastic surface.
To achieve the desired outcome when using a 20-watt fiber laser, it's essential to employ optimal settings and additives. Adjust the speed to 500-1000mm/sec for best performance while setting your Q-frequency between 20-40kHz. When molding, precise mixing of the additive is crucial, and aiming for 2%-4% LDR is recommended. By taking care to ensure these critical elements are exact, you can have confidence that your result will be of the highest quality.
We understand that settings may vary depending on your laser machine type and specifications and application, we still suggest to contact our technical support team for more personalize recommendation.
LaZact additive is an ideal solution for marking on plastic during the molding process. Permanent marking can be accomplished using Fiber and Yag lasers, while using a diode laser for printing is something we are exploring further. For optimal contrast, we suggest introducing 1% to 4% LDR of LaZact Additives in your molding process.\
LaZact White for black moldings already contains both a laser additive and a black colorant. We advise against adding more colorant, as it could be counterproductive and may hinder the laser marking process.
Fiber and YAG lasers are compatible with Lazact Additives. These lasers provide precise and clear markings, ensuring detailed and vivid results on various plastics. The synergy between Lazact Additives and these laser types optimizes marking quality, enhancing both visibility and durability.
While UV lasers are used to for white markings on colored molded plastics
Our LaZact additive is an ideal solution for marking on ABS plastic during the molding process. Permanent marking can be accomplished using Fiber and Yag lasers while using a diode laser for printing is something we are exploring further. For optimal contrast, we suggest introducing 1% to 4% LDR of our granulated masterbatch or powder concentrate in your molding process.
